Why Laminate With a Corian® Edge?
Laminate is widely used for kitchen and bath surfaces and is available in a multitude of colors.

The Corian edge adds a dimension of beauty and elegance to the counter tops with an accent of color and a matching Corian splash. You can transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Because Corian is thermal formable we can bend it into corners and add curves to the top for a continuous one piece look and feel.

Countryside Designs can also add an undermount basin to your laminate counter tops by inlaying a slab of Corian into the substrate and mounting the basin to the Corian, revealing a beautiful Corian ring and waterproof seal between the laminate and the basin.

We use GP (general purpose) a commercial grade of laminate, which is twice as thick as standard laminate. We also buy it in sheets that are 5’x12’ so in most cases we can avoid the long corner seams one often sees in laminate counter tops.

Because we custom make every top, we use MDF (medium density fiberboard), also available in formaldehyde free, to make the substrate for the counter top. The MDF is water resistant as opposed to the standard particleboard which when wet acts as a sponge. We also use watertight glue for all our seams to insure a long lasting quality top for years to come.

Even with all this, the laminate tops with the Corian edge will come in at about half the cost of the all-Corian top, leaving you with enough money to get creative and make your island or work surface out of Corian to match the Corian edge you have used on the laminate countertops.
